The Dandenong Ranges offer plenty to explore. Here are just some of the highlights:

Must-See Spots. The Puffing Billy Railway is seriously awesome. It's an old steam train, like, real old-school. You hang your legs out of the open carriage and chug right through the thick forest. It's a rush, man. You gotta do it.  

Next, visit Emerald Lake Park. It's a perfect spot to relax, enjoy the scenery, or go fishing. To explore a lake, you can hire pedal boats with kids. There's also a miniature train ride option that makes your experience more exciting and fun. The park is full of open space to celebrate small birthday parties and family gatherings.    

Cute Villages. You should also wander through the villages of Olinda and Sassafras. They're super quaint. You can browse the little craft shops. Also, grab coffee at a cosy cafe. And check out some cool local art in the galleries.

Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden. Enjoy a cool climate in Victoria with stunning views over the Yarra Valley. The garden becomes the centre of attraction due to its wonderful display of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, and daffodils. You may walk a lengthy walk along the winding paths, enjoy the view from Serenity Point, plan a small picnic on the green lawn, or take the 25-minute Garden Explorer tour to discover the ever-changing beauty of the ‍seasons.  

Get Outdoors. Of course, there are the National Parks and Lookouts. You can really get into nature here. Think of huge, towering trees and peaceful fern areas. It's a great spot to just go green. Plus, there are some very artistic communities nearby, too.
